My Two Valentines

This Valentines Day I feel like the luckiest lady in the world because I have two amazing guys in my life. And though I'm really looking forward to welcoming an equally awesome and amazing little girl into our family in a few short weeks, Kaden and his daddy will always, always, always be my two best guys. Happy Valentine's Day! I love you both with all my heart.

The past few months have been great with only a few exceptions. Kaden managed to catch his second illness of the winter flu season and it took us to a milestone we never really wanted to reach -- our first trip to the ER. Thankfully, it wasn't anything serious, just slight dehydration from a nasty GI bug, but it's certainly not something any of us want to experience again anytime soon.
Here's a picture of our queasy little one in between teaspoons of Pedialyte.

As you can see, he's totally adorable even when he's sick. That's definitely not a trait he gets from me. Fortunately, he's now fully recovered and is pretty much back to his happy, mischievous self.

Kaden and his daddy are already getting excited for baseball season. Here's a shot of him listening to daddy talk about pitchers and catchers reporting to training camp. I think it's time Kaden got his own Yankees cap because daddy's is still just a little too big . . . on second thought, he probably wouldn't keep it on his head if he didn't think it belonged to daddy.

We're all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Kaden's little sister and though I'm not so sure he understands what it all means, he certainly has noticed the recent infiltration of pink clothes, blankets and gear in his bedroom. He thoughtfully examines new items as they enter his space so bringing his sister home for the first time should be interesting. Stay tuned for more on that in a few weeks . . .

Finally, here are a few random shots of our handsome boy right before nap time. Throughout my pregnancy I've needed an afternoon nap every bit as much as Kaden (sometimes more) and I've enjoyed cuddling up on the couch with him for a cozy snooze. For the past few months it's been my favorite part of the day.

Well, I guess all good things really do come to an end because Kaden's decided he's too much of a big boy to cuddle that way and now prefers to go to sleep laying down on his own. I know it's a good thing that he's maturing and wanting to put himself to sleep but I already miss those cuddles. A lot. Good thing I took lots of pictures.
